Do you know that there are 7,500 varieties of Apples in the world and a third of that (2,500) is grown in the US? I didn’t until I stumbled on the linked posts. I was familiar with the 10 or 12 types that I see at, and buy from, the grocery stores.
Apples offer certain nutrients, but they are not medicines that will eliminate health problems, replace exercises, nor keep the doctor away.
Apples are considered functional foods that contains “a variety of bioactive substances, each with a unique function in the body.”
And they are good to eat alone as a dessert, for cooking, or saucing.
