Trump and Biden both call for smooth transition in historic Oval Office meeting – ABC News
President-Elect Donald Trump just visited the White House at the invitation of outgoing President Joe Biden. Click on the above link to watch. As I watched the event and Trump’s speech, I couldn’t but muse how the President-Elect had changed from the days of his previous term. Even during his speech to his supporters at the end of day on November 5th. His speeches are now more thoughtful, empathetic, and God-conscious. Of course, he’s still the confident, courageous leader who touts abrasive rhetorics to and against his opponents. But, above all,
A Paradigm Shift
He has definitely become another man; a new man who now acknowledges God and the role He has played in his life. If he, Trump, hadn’t believed in God before, a paradigm shift occurred in his life after being saved from the Butler, PA, assassination.
I’m positive that Trump wondered tons of times if there was a God. And if there’s one, why does a good God who loves me allow all these (the persecution, conspiracies, lies, slander, convictions, multiple lawsuits, suffering, etc.) to come at me? And not only him, but also his family and close friends.
I’m also sure that some of you, including me, reading this have gone through similar, albeit not to the magnitude of Trump’s. Each one will be to the magnitude of your purpose. You wake up one day to chaos; you lost everything and find that your family and friends have turned their backs on you.
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”
2 Corinthians 4:17 KJV
God is working something in you and I. He brings us to that place where we totally depend upon Him. Why does He have to make us go through all that to work it? Why doesn’t He just tell us what He wants? Your answers are as good as mine.
But, one thing I know for sure (credits to Oprah) is that after He’s done, we will always become another (new) man that we wouldn’t have become by ourselves.
My Wish
My wish for you is that God will raise up someone to cone to your rescue when all around you suddenly becomes chaotic and those who you love, and who professes to love you, suddenly become antagonistic and join forces with your enemies. It’s a devastating blow to one’s psyche which can mentally ruin the person. If one doesn’t die or become mentally deranged in the process, there’s definitely an invisible hand keeping and protecting you for your greater future. All that happened (or is happening) is to prove that you have a bigger purpose in life and the enemy(ies) are on rampage to prevent you from becoming who you were meant to be; doing all they can to prevent you from achieving purpose. Again, if you survived it, keep on keeping on. It’s not the time to quit, but a time to regroup and refocus for your comeback (I’m loving this word: COMEBACK!)
Now, let the work begin
Winning the election is only a precursor to the real work. The work to make America Great(er) again.
- First tackle is unifying a divided nation.
- Second is paying off the $6.7 trillion American debt. How did we get there?
- Third, ensuring that all who desires to work are gainfully employed.
- Fourth is that there shall be none feeble, homeless, or poor in our midst.
- Fifth is driving lawlessness out of our nation and making its borders safer.
These, to me, are how to make America (and Americans) great(er) again.
Will it be easy and smooth? I pray so, but there are many unhappy people in our midst. Unhappy for several reasons, personal and otherwise. But, I pray that God will make America’s enemies its footstool and be at peace with Trump and America.
Continued Prayer
Let’s continue to pray for our nation and the leaders in authority over us for a peaceful and prosperous future. I pray that Trump’s second term will be just what the Lord prescribed for America. God bless America and make it a greater nation.
