I am very happy that you choose to visit my blog today. I hope your 2025 started on a peaceful note and that you are looking forward to an exciting new year. I am. May 2025 be your best year ever.
As the year begins, I find myself pausing to reflect on the journey of 2024; a year filled with moments of triumph, lessons in resilience, and opportunities for growth. Conducting this reflection has been a continuous personal exercise but, today, I choose to share parts of it as a motivation for us both. I hope that it inspires you, too, to reflect on your own journeys and prepare for the year ahead with clarity and purpose.
Personal Growth: A Year of Stretching and Strengthening
2024 challenged me to grow in unexpected ways. One of my proudest accomplishments this year was embracing the social media. Think-Talk became active on Instagram and X, and I dared to reveal my face couple of times or so. In 2025, I intend to take this up a notch. Do follow me on these platforms and suggest ways you’d like me to explore 😊. Thanks.
I barely posted the last two years (2022 and 2023) as I got into a very demanding position that took away a lot from me mentally, physically, and emotionally. I was so glad it ended. I realized that I lost a few subscribers. I’m however so grateful to those who stuck around with me.
At the turn of 2024, I was intentional about posting that I posted an article 77% of the year; the most I’d done since I started Think-Talk. I hope the number increases in the coming year, too.
I also developed the discipline of daily (almost) journaling. What began as a simple exercise to clear my mind evolved into a powerful tool for self-discovery and emotional regulation. However, I also recognized areas for improvement, particularly in managing procrastination; a habit that, at times, hindered my ability to fully achieve my goals. First example, this post was meant to have been written before 2024 ended. Working on it.
Lesson Learned: Growth is rarely linear, but consistent effort makes progress inevitable.
Relationships: Nurturing What Matters
2023 was a year of family celebrations: milestone birthdays and a wedding thus reconnecting with family members that I hadn’t seen for years. Intentional efforts made to strengthen those connections were, however, not fully realized in 2024 . Weekly calls /FaceTime dates with my daughters have became a cherished ritual, reminding me of the value of consistent, intentional time together. The dinner dates have however declined for various reasons.
Same goes for the WordPress family. I reviewed my subscribers and realized that I either hadn’t seen or read any of their posts nor been on their website in the past year.
This is not from a lack of love, or that some relationships had grown distant, but from a shift in priorities and life stages. Accepting these changes with grace has been a significant emotional milestone.
Lesson Learned: Relationships flourish when sincerely nurtured, and not when it is based on a “what’s-in-it-for-me.” Sometimes, love also means letting go.
Career & Finances: Progress, Not Perfection
2024 was a year of steady professional progress. One standout achievement, as I mentioned above, was diving into the social media space and being consistent with my blogging that resonated deeply with my 42 new subscribers, resulting in an 8% increase in engagement.
Financially, I’m yet to start making money blogging. I’ll explore that this year in order to make the time spent on it worthwhile, as well as align with my long-term plans.
Lesson Learned: Success in any area is about creating systems that align with long-term goals.
Memorable Moments: The Highs and the Lows
• Highlight: My birthday trip was a memorable experience. Read my blog on it.
• Challenge: Navigating the loss of two work contracts taught me the importance of patience and perspective.
Lesson Learned: Every moment, whether joyful or challenging, contributes to the story of growth.
Looking Ahead to 2025: Intentions with Clarity
As I prepare for 2025, my intentions are grounded in what I’ve learned this year:
1. Deepen my relationships by scheduling monthly (or alternate monthly) check-ins with family and friends.
2. Build on my professional momentum by publishing more blogs.
3. Prioritize my health by maintaining a consistent workout schedule and eating healthy.
Closing Thoughts
Reflecting on 2024 has reminded me that every year is a chapter filled with opportunities to grow, learn, and build a better version of ourselves. I encourage you to take some time to reflect on your year, celebrate your wins, and set meaningful goals for the future. Let’s begin 2025 with courage, clarity, and gratitude.
Once again, Happy New Year to you.
