Today, that photo, is a reminder of that promise to myself.

Somewhere, along the lines and ways of living though, I somehow forgot. But, that shadow just reminded me.

Promises are made to be kept; not broken. And if you find yourself breaking one, please don’t keep living like it never happened.

Either to yourself or another

Be swift to make amends

Else, it keeps tugging at your heart and blurs your next path and vision.

Today, that shadow reminded me of my self-promise.

Now I can’t ignore it any longer.

Today, I step into the Light

That has been waiting on me to shine

I will not live in shadows cast,

by others or even myself,

By echoes of a buried past.

Nor walk the paths where others tread,

Today, I forge my own path and leave a trail for those who dare to follow.

A ghost unseen, a life unread.

The weight of whispers, dim and gray,

Once shaped my nights and stole my day.

But now I rise, my voice is strong,

A melody that’s all my own.

No longer bound by doubt or fear,

I claim the space that’s rightfully near.

Not just a shadow, not just a name,

But fire and soul, a heart untamed.

So let the sun reveal my face,

And the stars welcome their own,

And the moon usher me into the new,

Each step I take, a mark, a trace.

For I was made to stand, to shine,

Not live in shadows—this life is mine.

It’s been mine all along

Oh Lord forgive me I pray

For having allowed those Shadows to cling and takeover for so long.

But, Today, the Comeback is so strong to stop, and so huge to crush the highest mountains that dare to stand in its path.

So, help me God I pray.
