Significance of Biblical Numbers

In Christianity, numbers are significant. So significant that there is a book, with 36 chapters, designated to it. Today, I want to share some with you so that when you start seeing those numbers repeatedly, you’ll know that God is probably trying to say something to you. I must say that this is not numerology – we are not studying numbers as the occults or psychics do. I’m only sharing with you what I have experienced and learned in my Christian walk. Remember that God still speak. And He speaks in numerous ways. One of such ways is using (or flashing) numbers hoping that you will get it or that someone will show up to explain its significance to you.

2. 21 as a Prophetic Warning
      •   In Revelation, the great tribulation includes three sets of 7 judgments (7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 bowls) = 21 judgments (Revelation 6-16).
      •   This reinforces 21 as a number associated with trials before final restoration.

Personal Application of 21
If 21 appears in your life, it might indicate:

These are just some of the numbers with biblical significance. Have you heard or seen any number frequently occurring in your life?

Practical Application

Now, let’s talk about practical ways for application of these numbers in your spiritual walk.

There was a time that I didn’t know what to do when I first started noticing numbers. But, for you, that won’t be the case since you are reading it now 🙂

  1. Paying Attention to Patterns in Your Life
       •   Just as God uses numbers in Scripture to communicate His plans, He can use them in your life too.
       •   Ask yourself: Are there numbers that keep showing up in my life? (e.g., birth dates, addresses, significant life events)
       •   Example: If major life changes often happen in sevens (e.g., every 7 years), you might recognize God working in cycles of completion in your journey.
  2. Using Numbers as a Spiritual Reflection Tool
       •   When a number stands out, look at its biblical meaning and ask:
          •   Does this relate to a season I’m in?
          •   Is God trying to teach me something through it?
          •   How does it align with what I’m experiencing?
       •   Example: Seeing 40 frequently? It might signal a season of testing, growth, or preparation before a breakthrough.
  3. Seeking Confirmation Through Scripture
       •   If a number keeps showing up, find where it appears in the Bible.
       •   Ask God if there’s a lesson or encouragement in that passage.
       •   Example: If the number 12 keeps standing out, you might study the 12 tribes of Israel or 12 apostles and see if there’s a leadership or mission-related message for you.
  4. Using Numbers in Prayer and Discernment
       •   Ask God to reveal if a number has meaning for you.
       •   If you feel drawn to a specific number, pray for insight on what it means in your spiritual journey.
       •   Example: If you feel called to a jubilee (50) season, pray about areas where God might be bringing freedom or restoration.
  5. Journaling and Tracking Spiritual Patterns
       •   Keep a record of when certain numbers appear in your life, dreams, or Bible studies.
       •   Look for connections between those numbers and what’s happening in your walk with God.
  6. Applying Biblical Timelines to Your Personal Walk
       •   Numbers can help us recognize spiritual timing.
       •   Example: If you’ve been in a long “wilderness” season (40), it might be time to ask God if you’re nearing the end of that test.
       •   If you feel like things are unfinished (3.5 years instead of 7), it could mean God is still working behind the scenes.
  7. Recognizing When God is Speaking Through Numbers in Dreams or Visions
       •   Like Joseph (Genesis 41), God may use numbers to confirm things prophetically.
       •   If you dream of 5, it might relate to grace. If you dream of 10, it might be about divine order or responsibility.
