Ten (10) Years Seems Just Like Yesterday

A few photos of Dad

June is my birth month and I look forward to it every year. However, it’s also the month that our Dad left this world, and our brother barely three weeks after. Today marks the 10th year.

A Decade Without You, Daddy Dearest, Yet Forever With Us: A Tribute to Our Father

Today marks ten years since you left this earth, and still, it feels like yesterday.

A gentle giant in our lives, your absence echoes in ways words can scarcely describe. But even in your silence, your voice still speaks — through the values you instilled and the strength you modeled in every season.

You were more than just our father.
You were our compass — pointing us toward contention, integrity, faith, and resilience.
You were our covering, our quiet hero — showing up, standing strong daily with fanfare.

You didn’t just tell us what was right — you lived it.

Ten years later, the world has changed.
We’ve grown, stumbled, learned, laughed, and cried.
But your legacy lives on in each of us — in the way we show up every day, in the way we hold our heads high, and in the quiet prayers we whisper when life gets overwhelming.

Some days, the grief still sneaks up like a thief.
But even in sorrow, we’re grateful.
Grateful that we got to call you Dad.
Grateful that your life was our example.
Grateful that love, true love, never dies — it just finds new ways to shine.

“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13‬:‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So today, we remember not just your death,
but your life — the beautiful, steady, honorable life you lived.
And though we miss you deeply, we hold onto the memories and promise that we will see you again.

Rest well, Daddy.
Your memory is a treasure we carry — always.

The Paradox of the Month of June

Satan is a liar, a deceiver, and a counterfeiter. He tries to copy and mar everything good that God does or creates. But we know that he cannot succeed because he’s already been defeated.

In-between the remembrances, is my birthday. And there are times that I feel like not celebrating myself. But, that only means that Satan is winning. But, God forbid.

We will continue to cherish the memories and celebrate every year of remembrance. And, try hard as Satan may, our joy will not be perturbed for God continues to give me the beauty for ashes, the oil of joy, and the garment of praise.
