Hey hey my people. The NBA 2023-24 Season is starting soon!!’ Pre-games start in three days and Regular Season starts on October 24th. See NBA.com/schedule. And check your local TV stations schedule for Teams’ airing times.

I call the pre-games, the pre-gel’ing period to test out each new body to each team, camaraderie, rotations, and the coaching staff trying to mesh the right player with the right position, including who will be the sixth man; the whole shebang, before the Season starts.

I have grown to love basketball over the years. With every season, comes a new level of appreciation both for each player and the game. Basketball never ceases to amaze me. It’s a game of life indeed.

Off Season

Basketball’s off-period seems like a long abstinence for me, So it’s with great excitement that I long for and look forward to the return of the Season. Personally, I’m one that is often immune to the excitement of anything. Don’t get me wrong – I’m a joyful personality, but I have the attitude of “once it’s gone, its gone; off to the next one.” Any wonder why I love Golden State Warriors so? 😊 “On to the next“ is Golden State Warriors’s famous quote after losing a game.

But it’s different with basketball. Anyhow,

A lot happens during the off-period. Players are in the news being showcased doing various other personal activities still connected to basketball or separate from it. The off-period is also the period for player trading. While the players are relaxing and enjoying time with their families, the various Teams’ back offices are busy strategizing on who to release off their rosters and/or scouting for additions to their Teams. We’d read or hear about several proposed trades in the news, but it’s not final until the Team confirms it.

Talk about the Trading Period

Several trades have occurred. But, of all of them this year, Dame Lillard (formerly of Portland Trailblazers (PTB)). joining Milwaukee Bucks was the one, in my opinion, that changed the O’Brien landscape. It changes everything and makes the Season even more exciting to anticipate. Sad to see Bucks’ two-way court strategist Jrue Holiday leave. Milwaukee will surely miss him.

Dame played eleven seasons with the Trailblazers and the desire to get a ring motivated his request for a trade; otherwise, Dame was a wholly devoted player to his former team and City/State.

Continued Prayers

I seize this blog to wish Bronny James a speedy and full total recovery. Bronny is LA Lakers’ LeBron James’s firstborn son. He suffered a cardiac arrest while practicing as a freshman of USC college basketball team. The family later disclosed that he had a congenital heart defect which is treatable. Thank goodness for that. May God be with him. heal him totally, and uphold the family during it all.

New This Season

This Basketball Season is going to be fire. With the new Teams’ additions, each Team is a probable Larry O’Brien contender. Yours truly will be glued to her TV, including watching whatever live games possible.

A new In-Season Tournament has bern introduced for the 2023-24 Season. According to NBA, it “is a new annual competition for all 30 teams that will provide players and teams with another competition to win, engage fans in a new way and drive additional interest in the early portion of the regular-season schedule. The inaugural In-Season Tournament will tip off on Friday, Nov. 3 and culminate with the Championship on Saturday, Dec. 9.”

This is in addition to the end-of Season Play-In that determines the 7th and 8th seeds,

Again, the Season sounds like 🔥 … Enjoy the Season with me.
