My Visit to Paul Getty Museum

Short video on arrival

I haven’t been to a museum in years, but I visited Paul Getty Museum (aka The Getty) yesterday and I was so glad I did. What a place! What a site! The architecture is amazing to say the least. Though parking is $25, entry is free which is great as museums normally charge for both.

Being the 4th of July weekend, I wasn’t expecting a crowd, but was still surprised by the turnout.

Daughters are the best!

All thanks to my architecture-artist daughter’s inspiration. I so enjoyed my solo trip and look forward to visiting again. She even got me a parking pass from one of her gig places so I didn’t have to pay the $25.

Two Locations

The Getty has both a Center and a Villa; at different locations. I visited the Center and hope to visit the Villa soon.

What’s the difference? I really don’t know since I haven’t been to the Villa. But the Center houses mainly European artworks. Click here to read all about The Getty.

It is a great place to visit if you’re in southern California/Los Angeles area and have interests in arts or history. It’s equally great for solo visits, like I had, family, or educational groups.

I had much fun watching and learning about Camille Claudel which was on exhibit, including the various works of art on display.

A few snaps!

I hope you enjoyed learning about The Getty, if you haven’t already heard about it, and watching the photos as I enjoyed taking them. The Getty is definitely a great place to visit! 😍
